Micheál Fitzgerald raced through the Heat Races, Progression Finals to win a place in the Last Chance Final in the 25th edition of the Walter Hayes Trophy at Silverstone which featured over 120 car entries from the UK, Ireland, Europe, Canada, Norway, Australia & USA.
Kildare's Jason Smyth won the Walter Hayes Trophy to add to his Brands Hatch Formula Ford Festival win & United Formula Ford Championship title to complete a unitque and rare Triple Crown pf titles.
Micheál qualified and raced in tricky and changing weather conditions to battle through the knockout format to reach the next rounds and lock down a significant performance compared to last years event.

Silverstone Circuit is a motor racing circuit in England, UK, near the Northamptonshire villages of Silverstone and Whittlebury. It is the home of the British Grand Prix, which it first hosted as the 1948 British Grand Prix.
