Cork Racing driver & actor Micheál Fitzgerald raced through the Heat Races & Progression Final to earn a Semi Final place and just missed out on a Final berth in the Brands Hatch Formula Ford Festival which raced a near 100 car entry in the UK featuring racing prodigies from the UK, Ireland, Europe, Canada, Norway, Australia & USA.

The Brands Hatch Formula Ford Festival has been previously won by Jenson Button, David Coulthard & Eddie Irvine on their way to their Formula 1 breakthroughs.

Kildare's Jason Smyth was crowned the champion leading home B-M Racing's Jordan Dempsey from Mullingar & United Formula Ford Champion Anthony Amato in very hard fought elimination race format.

Micheál fought several dogfights in a series of heavyweight races where racers battled in a knockout format to reach the next rounds. This was the third consecutive year that Micheál achieved a semi final result at the festival with his best fight yet.

Brands Hatch is a renowned motor racing circuit in the UK, known for its challenging layout with elevation changes and a mix of fast and technical corners. The circuit has a rich history, hosting major events like the British Grand Prix and British Touring Car Championships, and is a favorite among drivers and riders for its thrilling unforgiving nature.

Micheál said "I got to race the best of the best at Brands Hatch Formula Ford Festival and I made great competitive progress to record my third semi final result this year building on previous years. I'm very grateful for the brilliant support and comradery of the B-M Racing team. I am Rebel proud."
