Cork Racing Team driver Micheal Fitzgerald successfully guested for the MCP team at Kirkistown. In damp qualifying conditions, Fitzgerald qualified 14th for the Northern Irish FF1600 Championship race and 12th for the Irish FF1600 championship race in wet and very slippery conidtions.

Micheal held 12th in the Irish FF1600 race which was won by Noel Dunne from Wayne Boyd while in the Northern Iris FF1600 race, Micheal finsihed 11th. It was a strong result for Fitzgerald.

The Irish Ff1600 race will be more remebered for Kevin O Haras spectacular crash which cartwheeled him into the country and he was very lucky to come away from it unscathed.
