Dwyer fifth
for Cork Racing at Mondello Park
22nd April 2007
Glanmires Alan Dwyer scored a strong fifth for the Cork Racing
Team in the opening round of the Irish Formula Ford Championship
at Mondello Park as Portmarnocks Robert Creegan scored a double
race win for the Cliff Dempsey Racing Team.
Having qualified ninth, Alan made steady progress through the
race and was able to take advantage of a satefy car period to
steal some vital championship points. Robert Creegan led home
Rob Barrable and Neville Smyth in Round 1 with Paul Dagg in second
and Neville Smyth third in Round 2.
Unfortunately Dwyer retired in Round 2 with an engine problem
while a terminal engine also put Micheal Fitzgerald out before
the race after testing on Saturday. The Cork Racing Team travels
next to Kirkistown in Northern Ireland on May 22nd for Round 3
of Irish Formula Ford Championship.
