Alan Dwyer Formula Ford 1600

Corks Alan Dwyer was back in race action at Silverstone over the St. Patricks Weekend.

Peter Dempsey secured the GOLDEN HELMET Formula Ford 1600 event at Silverstone on March 19th but the Dublin Swift driver only just held off the Van Diemens of Gavin Wills, Chris Chisnall and the similar Swift of Glammires Alan Dwyer. Alan Dwyer in the Dwyer Engineering Swift SC93 was in the chasing pack all the way with another Dubliner Noel Dunne but Dwyer had to be very sharp to take evasive action to avoid the spinning Dunne at Brooklands where Stuart Kestenbaum was launched over the wheels of the stricken car.

Out of a field of 70 cars and with very little pre-event testing it was an excellent result for Dwyer who will build on this result for the season.
